Nagoya-jo Castle, together with Osaka-jo Castle and Kumamoto-jo Castle, has been counted as one of the three great castles in Japan, and has also been selected as one of Japan's 100 best castles. This castle started construction of the castle in 1610 by the command of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Two years later, the 5th floor, 5 stories above the stone wall, about 36 meters in height was completed. At that time, the castor tower had a total floor space of 4564 square meters and was about twice the size of Himeji castle. It was used until the Meiji Restoration as a residence of the Owari Tokugawa family, but it was destroyed by air raids. The castle tower was rebuilt in concrete in 1959 , and Honmaru Goten was rebuilt in wood. You can see various exhibits on Nagoya castle from 1st to 5th floors of the Great castle tower.
