Hokkaido covers approximately 22 percent(84 thousand kilometers) of Japan's area. The seasons are distinct, and the climate is cold with low temperatures. Unlike other areas in Japan, Hokkaido is not affected much by rainy season or typhoons. Although it is located on the northern tip of Japan, globally it is along the same line as major cities in America and Europe. It is surrounded on four sides by the Pacific Ocean, Japan Sea and Sea of Okhotsk, and is rich with vast and changing mountains, wetlands, beautiful natural lakes and marshes and a pastoral scene unlike anything else in Japan which spreads forever. You can enjoy the beautiful nature that Hokkaido is filled with.
