Nanzen-ji Zen Temple is a head temple of a homonymous sect at a temple of Rinzai Zen Sect established in Muromachi era (1291). The scenery of this temple is beautiful and famous in particular in a season of a salted cherry leave and colored leaves. There are Sanmon(Gate), Hojo Garden , and Nanzenin in this temple. This gate is ranked as one of Japan three Daimon, and the present gate is reconstructed one to hold a memorial service for the war dead who fell down at a camp in Osaka summer in 1628. You can see the beautiful scenery at the time you saw from the top of the gate in particular.
