There is an exotic hydrophobic bridge built of brick in a precinct in Nanzen-ji Temple. Suiro kaku is a bridge of the full length 93m with the shape that drew a beautiful arch and it was built for Meiji Period(1888） as a channel for the city from Biwa-ko Lake in the model for the aqueduct of ancient Roman times. Suiro kaku plays an active part as the sparse water which carries water even at present, and it's one of the typical landscape of Kyoto.
